The customers benefit accessing these web pages is to get information which hardware platforms are certified for SAP solutions on MS Windows. The certification of these hardware platforms is the basis for receiving support from SAP.

The hardware vendors, which are partners of SAP, are requesting a certification of their platforms at the AddOn TCS or are carrying out the certification by themselves. In the second case AddOn TCS is collecting the results and all the configuration information and awards certification after SAP has certified the benchmark. The AddOn TCS is publishing the Results of certifications on the www.saponwin.com web page.

A hardware platform is defined by the Platform Family (e.g. x86 Family 6 for Pentium II and III), the components that enable the data transfer between processor, memory and I/O (e.g. Intel BX) and the main I/O controller. This includes the chipset and the corresponding chip set extensions that are applied e.g. to implement 8-processor systems. All other components are understood as so called non-critical components and are not content of the certification.
